Monthly Newsletter October 2025

Welcome to the October edition of the Concept Carpenters Monthly Newsletter!
I’m excited to share a wrap-up of the awesome work our team has been up to over the past month. The weather’s warming up, the Black Caps are back in action, and summer’s just around the corner. With only about six weeks until Christmas, we’re feeling refreshed and ready to keep creating amazing spaces through the sunny season ahead.

Over the past month, we also stopped in to see our good friends at Next Level Joinery and were blown away by their impressive systemisation and management processes. It was truly inspiring for our management team here at Concept Carpenters, and it’s given us fresh ideas on how we can further maximise efficiencies and refine the way we work.

Ponga Road, Drury

Over at Ponga Road in Drury, Ethan and the boys are doing an amazing job — with the expert support of Cam Project Managing helping to keep everything on track.

At the time of our last newsletter, we’d just finished laying the floor joists after a challenging, wet period spent on excavation and piling. Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to say the plywood floor is down — we’re officially out of the ground!

The wall frames are now up, and roof trusses have been installed where required. The main section of the roof features a ridge beam and rafters, which the crew is currently working on. It’s been awesome to see such steady progress over the past month — spirits are high, and everyone’s thrilled with how the build is coming together.

Weona Place, Westmere

Project Manager John and the team have been doing an amazing job over in Westmere, with the site now fully set up and humming since last month’s newsletter.

We’ve poured 40 cubic metres of concrete on-site, including some large piles installed beneath the basement slab — a big milestone for the project. The basement foundations are now complete, and blockwork is well underway, marking exciting progress as the build continues to take shape.

After what was a very wet September, October and early November have turned dry and hot, making for ideal building conditions. By Christmas, we’re aiming to have the ground-level slab close to completion, though there have been a few challenges along the way.

At present, the team is working through the replacement of a public sewer line, which has meant coordinating closely with Watercare and Auckland Council — no small task! It’s taken a big effort to keep things moving, but everyone’s handling the process with patience and professionalism.

First View Avenue, Beachlands

Out in the winterless Beachlands, JP and the team have been making fantastic progress on this barn-style new build. The structural steel is now fully installed, and the crew is well underway with the rafted roof construction.

This stage hasn’t come without its challenges — installing rafters onto a ridge beam seven to eight metres off the ground is no easy task! But with the help of a trusty scissor lift, the team has managed the work safely and efficiently, showing great teamwork and determination.

Looking ahead, the goal is to have the EcoPly installed on the walls and the roof on by the end of the year — a perfect milestone to close out 2025 strong as we head into the Christmas break.

Closing words

That’s a wrap for the month of October at Concept Carpenters!

We’re proud to be Auckland’s market-leading builders, catering to commercial, residential, and maintenance projects across the region. If you’re looking for professional construction assistance — or simply want to discuss your next idea — our team is always happy to help.

To finish off the month, we enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Concept Carpenters Bowls Day at the Point Chevalier Bowling Club, which we’re proud to sponsor. It was a closely fought battle on the green, with Jack George and his team taking out the win by a narrow margin. The best-dressed awards went to Spider-Man and Oktoberfest — well-deserved winners who added plenty of fun and flair to the day!

Here’s to another great month ahead — and to many more amazing builds as we head into summer.

Stay positive and keep testing negative,
HM
