  • Henry McGarry finished school at age 17 and got straight into a building apprenticeship with some quality operators, doing mainly bungalow and villa renovations and extensions.

    Henry was awarded third place in the Registered Master Builders Apprentice Of The Year 2018. Soon after completing his apprenticeship, he established Concept Carpenters Limited. In the early days, Henry worked solo and completed small scale residential work. Growing with the demand, he now leads a team of 14 quality carpenters and thoroughly enjoys the camaraderie of the company.

    On the weekends, you can find Henry floating on the water trying to catch fish or sliding down a snow lined hill in the winter months, in between these he has a passion for getting his hair wet catching waves or crayfish.

  • Ashleigh joined Concept in early 2025, bringing with her a strong background in operations and administration. Originally from Wellington, she gained valuable experience working with a landscaping company there, where she developed a sharp eye for organisation, workflow management, and client communication. She also spent time working in the superyacht industry, which strengthened her adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure.

    At Concept, Ashleigh plays a pivotal role behind the scenes. She ensures
    all back-of-house operations run seamlessly, using our software systems to manage the financial side of our projects and keep everything on track.
    From day-to-day business organisation to accounting and administrative oversight, Ashleigh helps ensure the business operates smoothly and professionally. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic make her an invaluable part of our team. We absolutely love having Ashleigh at Concept, she brings capability, calm, and a great energy to everything she does.

  • James became part of the Concept team in early 2024, bringing with him years of industry experience and a proven track record of running his own successful construction business in Wellington. His background in residential renovations has equipped him with a deep understanding of project management, client communication, and high-quality craftsmanshi, skills that have made his transition into Concept seamless and highly impactful.

    From day one, James has stood out as an exceptional people person. His warm, approachable nature allows him to build trust quickly with both our clients and our team. Whether he’s guiding homeowners through the renovation process or collaborating on-site with colleagues, James consistently fosters an environment of positivity, clarity, and respect.

    Outside of work, James is far from slowing down. He’s often found renovating his own home, constantly honing his skills and experimenting with new ideas, or enjoying time with friends and family.

    One of James’s greatest strengths is his extensive experience in villa restoration. Having restored several villas of his own over the years, he brings a wealth of practical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a deep appreciation for the character and craftsmanship of older homes. His attention to detail and respect for heritage make him one of our go-to specialists for complex, high-touch projects.

  • Cam joined Concept in 2025, bringing with him more than two decades of experience delivering spectacular, high-end residential homes. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed and completed projects exceeding $20 million in value, giving him a deep understanding of the level of craftsmanship, planning, and coordination required for luxury builds.

    On site, Cam’s attention to detail is immediately evident. He has a remarkable ability to identify potential issues early, maintain immaculate standards, and ensure that every element of a project aligns with the client’s vision and the architectural intent.

    Beyond his technical expertise, Cam is an outstanding communicator. He builds trust and rapport with clients quickly, creating a collaborative and enjoyable project environment. His approachable style, combined with his knowledge and professionalism, helps our clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the construction journey.
