Monthly Newsletter October 2024

And that is a wrap for October, 2 months left to go in the year of 2024.

Last time we spoke I signed off with excitement leading into our annual fishing event however due to mechanical issues we pivoted and held the annual golf competition instead. A closely contested competition, golf was the true winner on the day but well done to JP and Josh who took home the silverware. I hope you enjoy this brief overview of the last month's antics.

Chatswood Grove, Chatswood

One of the nicest decks north of the Harbour Bridge is now 100% complete and we are very excited to share it. The quality of this project was noticed by an electrician unknown to us who made specific comments about the quality of the finish to our lovely customers– great to receive positive feedback like this. The balustrade detail was a highlight of this project, a first time constructing this design for the team at concept but it has come out spectacular and we will definitely be suggesting this design project moving forward.

If you’re thinking about a new statement deck in your backyard you know who to call.

Success Court, Omaha

The team have been making great progress up in the winterless north. We have had some curveballs thrown at us by the Auckland Council with an increased scope of work due to some further unusable structural timber. We have managed to pivot and keep the site moving along efficiently whilst we await some paperwork. Over the past month the team has been installing the cavity wrap system, including building paper and cavity battens. We are now installing the lovely western red cedar vertical shiplap cladding. We have also completed a new TPO internal gutter during the month of October.

New Market and Penrose Rotary Club

It was a great afternoon with plenty of questions at the end of the presentation. There were guests present from a rotary club in America. The Rotary club has had a heavy involvement with enabling the great initiative at One Tree Hill College to assist the next generation of Builders to progress their learning. I hope that other high schools adopt this idea from Charlotte and her team at One Tree Hill.

Gumboot Friday

I recently had the pleasure of connecting with some of the amazing people at I Am Hope. This year we wanted to get behind the great work that Mike and his team are doing, what better way than to dress the Concept team in some beautiful I Am Hope gumboots to raise awareness when we are halfway through a muddy concrete pour. Some of the statistics around our young Tamariki is very eye-watering.

Closing words

I hope you enjoyed the light summarisation and thank you for choosing Concept we really appreciate the amazing people we have been lucky enough to partner with over the years. Wherever the warm weather may take you over the next couple of months stay safe and enjoy the sunshine.
