Welcome back to the 2025 edition of the infamous Concept Carpenters newsletter. I hope you had a spectacular summer holiday and festive season relaxing with friends and family and are recharged and ready to go for what is shaping up to be an amazing year ahead.

The team and I at Concept are very excited with some of the recent wins within our team and projects kicking off. We look forward to sharing with you what we have been doing during the month of January

Pamela Place, Saint Heliers

We are now fully closed in with our two new aluminium joinery units installed and all vertical western red cedar also installed.

We have had to work closely alongside the engineer and architect on this project to redesign certain weather tightness and structural elements that we recognised would simply not work.

Another good reason why you should choose Concept for your next project - not only are we quality builders we also have a great understanding of building methodology and will always voice our concerns if we believe something could be done better or is a risk to our clients.

We are very excited to be on-site at our new extension renovation project in beautiful Howick. I have been working closely with the clients through the design phase with our good friends at Pinfold Architecture. Together, an architect and a builder can accurately calculate construction costs during the design phase to prevent client surprises. We have done this on several occasions with great success.

This projects is a 50m2 to an existing house to create a forever home for a lovely young family including 2 kids.

The project uses the Proclima Intello System, which is a very superior construction methodology; essentially, it creates an air barrier between the exterior and the interior. Along with high value insulation and joinery units we will create a high performing house (a lot better than the building code minimum).

This will therefore reduce running costs keep a cool house in summer and a warm house in winter.

Innisfree Drive, Ellerslie

Another project we are very excited to be commencing as of 20 January.We were successful in winning the tender process in late 2024 for this new threetownhouse residential development.

We are working alongside our good friends at the Agents Of Architecture, which gives us confidence in a streamlined program and an enjoyable 10 months ahead.

So far, we have demolished the existing house and cleared the site. all in two days, work for a large 14T excavator.

James, our Project Manager, has been doing an amazing job of meeting our resource consent obligations, which includes formal letters to the neighbouring properties, regular meetings with the resource consent team and various other stringent requirements.
