Welcome to the August edition of the Concept Carpenters Monthly Newsletter!
Over the past month, the team has been busy both on and off the building site. From finishing another incredible co-working space, to smashing pizzas at Smoko, cheering on the Warriors against the Parramatta Eels, and plenty of other adventures — it’s been a month full of highlights.
During the month, we updated the company team photo on the office wall — a small tradition that carries a big meaning. It’s amazing to see just how much our team has grown, and a true reminder of the incredible people who make Concept what it is today. This milestone reflects the huge team effort it has taken to come this far, and we’re excited to see what the future holds as we continue building together.

Glenwood Ave, Birkenhead
Over at Glenwood Avenue in thriving Birkenhead, our amazing customer Sam asked us back to carry on with some internal renovations after we completed his skyscraper deck structure earlier this year. This time, the works include creating a brand-new staircase to give him better access to his man cave downstairs.
Campbell and Liam have done an incredible job under James’ guidance on this tricky little renovation — carefully cutting out the existing framing to make way for a larger wardrobe and the new internal stair layout. If all goes to plan, in just a month’s time the stairs will be installed with the help of our great partners at Continental Stairs.

Webber Street, Westmere
Ethan and the boys have been doing a fantastic job over in Howick, with the extension renovation now nearing completion. Over the past month, the team has finished the main outdoor deck—perfect for endless summertime entertainment—and crafted beautiful Kwila hardwood entry stairs leading up to the front door.
On the inside, the painting is now complete and the new flooring is down, bringing a fresh feel to the space. The bathrooms are sitting at about 90% complete, with final touches underway.
By this time next month, we expect to be all wrapped up and out of our clients’ hair, leaving behind another awesome project that everyone can be proud of.
Mahuhu Crescent, CBD
A huge shoutout to our amazing Apprentice of the Year finalist, JP, who has done an incredible job leading the carpentry on this fresh-off-the-press WOTSO co-working space in Auckland’s CBD. These photos just in show some stunning scenes from another fantastic project — made possible by great clients, strong project management to keep us on a tight timeline, and the awesome subcontractors we’re lucky to work alongside.

Weona Place, Westmere
We’re excited to be on site at our brand-new Westmere NewBuild project! Over the past month, we’ve safely removed asbestos from the property, and an independent contractor has now confirmed clearance — ensuring all health and safety requirements are met.
With the gas main disconnected at the roadside, we’re gearing up for the big move: in the next week, a 14-tonne digger will roll straight through the front door of the existing home. Within five days, the house will be gone, the site will be cleared back to usable clay, and we’ll begin setup and basement excavations for this stunning new architectural build.
It’s a very exciting chapter for the Concept team, and we can’t wait to share the progress with you in the coming months.
