Monthly Newsletter
Welcome to the March edition of the Concept Newsletter!
This month, we have been creating more amazing spaces for amazing people. I hope you enjoy this brief overview of the month that was March!!
This month, Chris and his team have initiated efforts to find common ground with opposition parties on overhauling the Resource Management Act. This move aims to streamline environmental and planning regulations - how good would this be!
Innisfree Drive, Ellerslie
Pele and the team at our townhouse development project in Ellerslie have been moving heaven and earth!
Over the past few weeks, the crew has been finalising the concrete slabs, and just in the last few days, we have poured three beautiful rib raft concrete slabs. These will keep the homes warm, energy-efficient, and structurally sound.
Approximately 60 m³ of concrete went into these smart slabs, with nine concrete trucks and an incredible boom pump effortlessly distributing the 19mm aggregate around the site for our expert finishers to work their magic.
Next week, the frames will arrive, and these three houses will really start to take shape.
One of the key advantages we offer our clients today is the strength of our team. With a crew of 20, we can assign additional manpower at crucial stages of the build.
Next week, eight of our superstar carpenters will be on-site to give the framing a big push. This helps us complete projects more efficiently — ultimately benefiting our customers.
Nelson Street, Howick
Ethan, George, and Josh are making great progress on this energy-efficient extension in beautiful Howick.
I’ve been working with these clients for about a year before breaking ground, and it’s been a pleasure supporting the design process alongside our talented friends at Pinfold Architects.
We’re currently finishing the internal Intello paper layer, which forms a crucial part of this energy-efficient build. First-time caller - long-time listener when it comes to this advanced building system — and so far, it’s been both straightforward and practical to construct.
The Intello Proclima system creates an airtight barrier around the inside of the external envelope, allowing for highly cost-effective heating and cooling.
In the next few weeks, we’ll complete the roofing iron installation and skylights. From there, we’ll move on to installing the PVC windows and weatherboards.
Watch this space — another amazing, beautifully designed space is on the way!
Rarangi Road, Saint Heliers
Matt and JP are making great progress on this awesome backyard renovation in stunning Saint Heliers.
We’ve got another concrete pour coming up next week to complete the new pad for the spa pool and the concrete pathways.
We’re also setting a few more posts, which will allow us to complete the timber framing for the deck and stairs — seamlessly connecting all three backyard levels.
We’re using beautiful VITEX hardwood, perfect for that smooth, moisturising feel underfoot as you enjoy your backyard gin and tonic!
This time next week, we’ll be giving the deck a Cabot Deck Wash and preparing our handover package for the client.
Watch this space — another dream backyard is nearly complete!
Closing words
About a week from now, the clocks will be going back to their winter setting! Make sure you get out there and make the most of the evenings while they last.
Approaching April we have more holidays than working days with Easter and 16 of 16 ANZAC.
Let's not take for granted what those veteran soldiers sacrificed for us in the early 1900's!
Stay positive and keep testing negative,
HM
Closing words
As we enter the 12th month of 2024, the festive season, the business end - myself and the team at Concept wish you all an enjoyable month ahead fulled with Christmas function and laughter. We are looking forward to our own Christmas function next Friday, spraying around some paintballs in West Auckland.
Stay positive and keep testing negative,
