Why Small Projects Demand Just as Much Care as Large Ones
We’re fortunate to work on a wide range of projects. Some sit firmly in the high-end, architect-led space, including complex, design-driven homes with build values exceeding $5 million. At the same time, we still carry out what many would call “smaller” projects, decks, fences, retaining walls, outdoor living areas, renovations, extensions, and structural work like basement dig-outs.
We offer this full spectrum of services for one simple reason.
We believe every project deserves the same level of care.
From a client’s perspective, the value of a project is always relative. An $80,000 outdoor area might represent years of saving, careful planning, and a very clear vision of how they want to live in their home. The fact that it isn’t a multi-million-dollar build doesn’t make it any less important. In many cases, it’s just as personal.
Because of that, our approach doesn’t change based on project size.
Whether we’re delivering a high-end new build or a residential deck and fence, the same principles apply. We put the same level of thought into project planning, site management, and communication. We make sure the right builders are assigned to the right clients, not just based on technical skill, but on personality and fit. When we’re working in someone’s home for weeks or months, those details matter. Even small things, like how we conduct ourselves on site day to day, make a difference to the experience.
That mindset is embedded into how our business operates. Our systems are built around consistency and care, not scale. Every client is treated as if their project is the most important one we’re working on, because for them, it is. This client-centric approach is something our entire team understands and takes pride in.
It’s also one of the reasons our business has grown the way it has.
Over time, we’ve found that many smaller projects naturally lead into larger ones. A deck becomes an extension. An extension becomes a full renovation. In some cases, we’ve been able to support families through multiple stages of work across many years. We get to know how they live, what they value, and how to guide them through the building process with confidence.
In that sense, we’ve become what many of our clients refer to as “their builder”, a trusted partner they return to whenever they have a new project in mind.
For us, that’s the real measure of success.
Not the size of the job, but the quality of the relationship and the standard of work delivered every time.
